 TSS Tokyo Water Co., Ltd. (TSS) is pleased to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoM) with JICA and the Water Supply Division of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water of Malaysia (KeTTHA) for JICA's Partnership Program (special program for regional activation) for technical cooperation project “Training and Capacity Building in Water Supply Control and NRW (Non-Revenue Water) Management Technology using SCADA in Malaysia”, in cooperation with the Bureau of Waterworks, Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

2. Outline of the project
Specialists of TSS instruct employees of the Labuan Water Supply Department of Water Supply Division of KeTTHA to be engineers for NRW reduction who can carry out optimal water supply control and efficiently manage NRW. These engineers are expected, in turn, to act as instructors in workshops for employees of water supply corporations across Malaysia, thereby contributing to reducing NRW in the country.
 

3.Major project activities
This project is to be implemented by a joint organization formed between TSS and Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation.
(1)Providing NRW management software/PCs, water leak detectors and other equipment
(2) Sending specialists from TSS to provide technical training on water supply control and NRW management using SCADA
(3)Inviting employees of the Labuan Water Supply Department to Japan to experience TSS's NRW management and maintenance of water supply facilities and receive training on water supply technologies, construction management and quality assurance
 
※SCADA: Stands for supervisory control and data acquisition, which is a computer-based system that monitors and controls infrastructure and facilities.
※NRW: Stands for non-revenue water, which refers to the amount of water that has been produced and is lost before it produces any revenue due to leaks, thefts, meter errors or other reasons.
