Treatment Plants (Operated by TSS)

Misono Treatment Plant (in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo)

Misono Treatment Plant has a capacity of 300,000 m3 per day to treat raw water from the Tone River. The plant treats water entirely by an advanced treatment system using ozone and biological activated carbon. The plant also has a capacity of 175,000 m3 per day for industrial water treatment.

Ozaku Treatment Plant (in Ome City, Tokyo)

Ozaku Treatment Plant has a capacity of 280,000 m3 per day to treats water from the Tama River. The plant takes in raw water at Hamura Intake Weir, which is transmitted from Hamura Pump Station and treated at the plant to supply to the Tama suburban area.

Kinuta Treatment Plant (in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo)

Kinuta Treatment Plant used to apply slow sand filtration to treat river-bed water from the Tama River before it was totally renovated into membrane filtration in 2008, in accordance with Bureau of Waterworks' policy of providing safe, palatable water. The total membrane filtration capacity of the Kinuta and Kinuta-shimo Treatment plants is 80,000 m3 per day.

Nagasawa Treatment Plant (in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa)

Nagasawa Treatment Plant has a capacity of 200,000 m3 per day to treats water from the Sagami River. The plant receives raw water from Kanagawa Prefecture and Kawasaki City. The plant uses micro-strainers when raw-water quality deteriorates due to the growth of blue-green algae (especially in summer).
